Werkgroep MasdevalliaAll Pleurothallid-enthousiasts should "browse" Carl Luer's Icones Pleurothallidinarum. In the Icones every Pleurothallid species will be described. At least that's the ultimate goal. A lot of species are yet undiscovered. Due to continuing deforestations several of them will be extinct before they will ever be discovered and described. Though lots of taxonomical changes can be expected as research progresses, the Icones are the best source for taxonomical information on Pleurothallids. The Icones Pleurothallidinarum consists of 26 volumes and there are more to come. Every volume reviews one or more genera or subgenera. Every species is described in detail and illustrated in black-and-white drawings. There are also identification-tables. These are very useful, though sometimes hard to use, especially for unexperienced users. Apart from that you can never be sure wether you're dealing with a still undescribed species.
